Crystal Memories
[Prof. Mark Stanley] ARCH 542: Campus/Urban Architecture
This project is a study of the connection between the fractal nature of crystal formation and the transference of data through the passing of memories. Crystal Memories is a speculative structure that allows participants to extract memories from their minds in the form of over-saturated salt solutions and donate them to a collective pool. From this pool of collective memory a scaffold of pipes distributes the solution as a vaporized cloud. This cloud solidifies onto the scaffolding into a constantly evolving crystalline form that changes as the path of the solution is altered through the pipe network.
